Since the Honolulu marathon I've been finding it hard to get out and do any running, but I think I've found a way to keep motivated.
So July was 5k month for me. The goal was to get out and do at least 5k a day. Normally that wouldn’t be too difficult, but since the COVID lock down and some people being unemployed, all the places that I usually go to have started to get pretty crowded. Plus, sometimes there are people that just don’t care about others and your health. So when running a route there are many times I need to re-route to slippery wet grass or cross a creek to get away from those inconsiderate people.
Nonetheless my other goal was to find an interesting picture everyday and to post it along with my location, weather and distance. There are a few days that I didn’t post simply because the pictures were not that interesting. But I think I did pretty good for my first personal challenge. I’ve got one more day to go for July. After that I’m going to start on a 4 month plan to increase my milage and speed for a couple of 1/2 marathons by the end of the year. I also plan on doing some laps in the pool for August to help bring my weight down and make it less stressful on my knees during my runs as I’ve starting to feel a little pain around where I tore my meniscus about 10 years back. After all – slow and easy takes the race
